Dr Nisha Sachdev graduated with the AR Moodie Board Prize for Ophthalmology from the University of Dundee, Scotland. Following her residency, she completed a PhD titled “Assessing and Correlating aspects of human cataract using Scheimpflug Photography and Wavefront Aberrometry” in 2004. During this time, she presented her unique research internationally and achieved worldwide academic recognition in her Visual Optics field. She completed her Ophthalmic vocational training in New Zealand and during this time she was the QEC representative for RANZCO.
Nisha then pursued further subspeciality training in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. She was offered a VMO position at RCH, RVEEH and Western Health after being awarded her fellowship. Since then, Nisha has relocated to Sydney where she has opened her own private practice. Nisha is actively involved in training registrars with practice clinical examinations (OSCE’s). She is an active member of Younger Fellows’ activities where she organised a Business Skills Seminar for the Annual RANZCO Congress held in Melbourne in 2012. Nisha is currently a member of the Younger Fellows Advisory Group for RANZCO.
